A few weeks ago, I was visiting a friend in Asheville when she said:
“Let’s go to beach volleyball.”
I laughed. “I’ve played… once.”
She smiled. “It’s fun. Friendly. Let’s just try it.”
So we went.
And then my turn came.
Standing there, about to serve, my heart started racing. I knew I was probably going to fumble. I knew people were watching.
And I did.
I laughed. Completely unsure of what I was doing.
And then something unexpected happened.
Men stepped in.
To help. To guide. To show me what to do.
Without me asking. Without me managing it. Without me orchestrating anything.
Just… because there was space for them to.
What That Moment Revealed About Attraction
That moment stayed with me.
Because it reminded me of something I now teach—but got to feel in my body all over again standing on that court.
So many women move through life as the one who has it together.
The one who:
- Leads
- Decides
- Knows
- Manages
The Queen.
And she is powerful.
But when we are always in that energy…

No room for a man to step in.
No room for him to lead.
No room for him to feel needed or engaged.
